Online Art Auction and Fundraiser

CALL FOR DONATIONS

The Medford Arts Center Auction is an opportunity designed to promote our member artists and the MAC through online exposure, along with a three day online auction, which will be open to the public. Our goal for this special event is to reach out to art patrons near and far, facilitating an awareness of our local talent. Shipping will be arranged by MAC and paid for by the buyer. No entry fee will be charged to the artist, and all works are guaranteed an opening bid of $50.00.

Auction and Exhibition Dates: Friday, November 10 – Sunday, November 12,2017
Receiving: Hand delivery at MAC November 3rd – November 5th 2017, 1-5 PM
Electronic Submissions: September 25 through October 25, 2017
Online Bidding Begins: Tuesday, November7, 2017 at 6 PM
ArtWalk and Auction Reception: Friday, November 10, 2017 – 6 – 9PM
Art Auction Open House: Saturday, November 11, 2017 – 1-5 PM
Art Auction Open House & Event Closing: Sunday, November 12, 2017 – 1-5 PM

Requirements:

  1. Artists may submit up to three properly framed and wired family friendly paintings of any medium. Photography is included. All work must be signed by the artist.
  2. Maximum art work size is 18” x 24”. Framed Works on Paper and Photography must be presented under glass or Plexiglas preferred; however, photographs may be matted and sealed.
  3. All submissions must include a good quality image, along with a brief artist bio and description of the work. The artist bio, images and description are to be submitted to our auction E-mail address: medfordartsauction@gmail.com . All image files are accepted, and all content files for your bio and art description must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or.docx).
  4. To bid and see a complete listing of items go to: www.32auctions.com/MACFallArtAuction2017 beginning November 7, 2017 at 6 p.m.
  5. MAC retains the right to not accept works that are deemed inappropriate in subject or presentation.
  6. Great care is taken of all artwork, but MAC cannot be held responsible for random acts of damage.
  7. Submission of work(s) implies agreement with the MAC to the above requirements. Please create your own labels for the back of each submission. Include, Artist Name, Address, Tel. #,Title and Medium.
  8. Proceeds on sales is 50% to the artist and 50% to Medford Art Center. Artists will receive payment within four weeks of auction closing.

Music Together – Fall Classes

(For Ages Birth through 4)

Our Music Together classes take place:

  • Medford Arts Center

  • Thursday – 9:30 a.m. – (Miss Judy) – Starting 9/14/17
  • Thursday – 10:30 a.m. – (Miss Judy) – Starting 9/14/17

Classes continue every Thursday at the same times until 11/16/2017

10th Annual Juried Poetry Contest

This annual contest was established to give recognition to the literary arts and local poets.

Entering poets must be at least 18 years of age. Any form of poetry or subject is acceptable. All submitted work must be original as well as the work of the poet entering the contest and not previously published. Up to 3 poems may be submitted by each entrant. There is no fee to enter.

They can also be picked up in person at the MAC during weekend gallery hours (18 N. Main St) or at the Medford Township office during business hours (17 N. Main St.).

The contest opens 10/1/2017 and closes at the end of the business day on 10/31/17. Please note no email submissions will be accepted. The completed application can be dropped off at the Township Municipal Office or postmarked no later than Oct. 31st to: Medford Township, 17 North Main Street, Medford NJ 08055. Please mark the envelope  “POETRY CONTEST”. All entries must be typed without the author’s name appearing on the hardcopy since this is a blind judging.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three poems. A reception will be held on December 11th for all contest finalists who will be invited to share their work. The reception and poetry reading will be open to the public. An Open Mic session will also be included.

(PRIZES: $100 1st place, $50 2nd place, $25 3rd place)

Ann Magee is an elementary school educator, children’s writer, and lifelong learner. She volunteers for Art Goes to School and is a docent at the Dr. James Still Historic Site and Education Center in Medford, NJ. She is the mother of three teenagers and resides in Medford.

Her love for reading and writing poetry spans more than twenty years. She believes poetry has the ability to fill our hearts as well as empty them onto the page.

The Medford Arts Center opened in the heart of Medford Village in June, 2009. Its historic 1880s Victorian home provides art galleries, classrooms and intimate performance spaces. The Medford Arts Center is a true community center for all the arts, showcasing painting, musical performances, poetry and children’s programs. It is an independent nonprofit corporation operated entirely by volunteers.
